Italy to play Spain in Euro 2012 final

Italy play Spain in the Euro 2012 final at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine, on Sunday. Defending champions and World Cup holders Spain are ranked Number One, while Italy hold the Number 12 spot in world rankings. In the second semi-final played at Warsaw in Poland last night, Italy beat Germany 2-1. For the winners, 21-year old striker Mario Balotelli netted both the goals. The semi-final victory extended Italy's unbeaten run against Germany in major tournaments to eight games. Italy are seeking their second European title after their 1968 triumph on home soil. If Spain win Sunday's final, they will equal Germany's record of three European titles. Spain won the second Euro tournament in 1964 and the last one in 2008.
