A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today set aside a Single Bench order which allowed the Italian vessel Enrica Lexie to sail after furnishing a bond for three crore rupees. The Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Mrs Manjula Chellur and Justice V Chitambaresh quashed the single bench order on a petition filed by the relatives of the two fishermen who were shot dead by Italian marines on February 15.
The Court directed the owner of the Italian vessel to file a petition before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court at Kollam regarding the release of the vessel. The Court also directed that the petition should be disposed off within one week.
