In Kerala, the two Italian naval guards of Vessel Enrica Lexie charged with the killing of two Indian fishermen off Kerala coast were remanded to three-day police custody.

The Naval guards – Latore Massimiliano and Salvatore Girone – were produced before Judicial Magistrate at his residence at Karunagapally in Kollam District amidst tight security yesterday.

First Class Judicial Magistrate K P Joy remanded the two accused to judicial
custody till March 5, but handed them over to investigators accepting a police plea for futher questioning. Both the accused have been taken back to Kochi.
