The Income Tax, IT, department raided properties of Karnataka energy minister D K Shivakumar on the fourth day today. <br/><br/>Cash and jewellery worth over 15 crore rupees has been seized so far by the Department during the raids. The Income Tax officials also seized a number of documents, account books and financial papers. <br/><br/>In this connection, the IT has also raided his father-in-law's house at Mysuru and close associates in Hassan. <br/><br/>The IT sources say the valuation of some jewellery found during these searches is being done. Documents related to investments in real estate, including some alleged benami papers, are being analysed by the department. <br/><br/>The IT has said that it is investigating Mr. Shivakumar and his close associates in a case of alleged tax evasion and huge undisclosed investments in real estate, jewellery and other sectors. <br/><br/>On the other hand, reacting to the raids power minister Shivakumar has accused BJP of political vendetta and condemned use of CRPF during the raids. He claimed he has remained within the ambit of law and the truth will emerge after IT department's formalities are completed.<br/><br/>

The Income Tax department continued its searches on Karnataka energy minister DK Shivakumar's properties in connection with alleged tax evasion case for the fourth consecutive day today. <br/><br/>Cash and jewellery worth over Rs.15 crore has been seized so far by the Income Tax Department . <br/><br/>The Income Tax officials also seized a number of documents, account books and financial papers. <br/><br/>Search and verification of the documents seized was still a continuous process in Mr. Shivakumar's house in Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru. <br/><br/>In Mysuru the Income Tax officials conducted search at Mr.Shivakumar's father -in-law's house also. <br/><br/>Some searches are still on.
