Income Tax searches at the premises of Raymond Group’s Chairman & Managing Director Gautam Singhania are still on at 15 locations across India.

A team of IT officials began searching the official premises of the business tycoon in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai among other places on Thursday morning.

The operation has been initiated by the Intelligence Directorate of the IT Department on suspected violations by certain offshore funds of the company and tax evasion.

A senior IT officer said that the department has seized incriminating documents.

The Group has several brands under its umbrella – Raymond, Raymond Premium Apparel, Manzoni, Park Avenue, ColorPlus, Parx & Notting Hill.

The Group also has business interests in readymade garments, designer wear, cosmetics & toiletries, engineering tools, prophylactics and air charter operations.
