IT Dept raids at Nama Nageswara Rao’s office

Income Tax Department officials today conducted simultaneous search operations in the offices and residences of Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader Nama Nageswara Rao. IT sleuths raided his construction firm at his native Khammam town and the office at Hyderabad besides his residences. Nageswara Rao represents Khammam Lok Sabha constituency in Lok Sabha. His business operations execute road and other major projects in Andhra Pradesh and some other states in the country as well as some foreign countries. The Income Tax officials said the search operations that began in the morning and part of routine exercise. The business accounts have been verified to check tax evasion, if any, they said. The TDP leader was not present when the IT officials raided his premises. Further details about the outcome of searches are awaited.Congress today said that it is open to discussion for setting up a Joint Parliamentary Probe into the corruption cases in order to run the upcoming budget session smoothly.Talking to reporters in New Delhi today party spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan today said that all political parties should act maturely for smooth functioning of the Parliament. She however maintained that the resolution to set up a JPC probe should be put to vote in the house.
