IT Dept makes special arrangements for filing returns

As five days are left for filing Income Tax returns, the Income Tax Department has made special arrangements at its office, Pratyakshkar Bhawan in New Delhi for taxpayers to file their returns. Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes, CBDT, R K Tiwari today inaugurated the special counters at Pratyakshkar Bhawan. Speaking to reporters, he said, all the necessary information regarding the filing of returns will be made available.On the issue of direct tax collection in this financial year, he said, the tax collection has increased by 8 to 9 percent during the first four months of this fiscal as compared to last year. Income tax offices will remain open on saturday and sunday for receiving income tax returns. Besides, additional counters will also be opened from 26th to 31st of July except 29th which is holiday on account of Eid.
