The Income Tax Department will probe the source of funding of the money for the garland made of 1000 rupee currency notes presented to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati at a rally in Lucknow. The department will check the source of the money estimated to be between 10 to 20 crore rupees. Sources say, the probe will be carried out by the IT department in Lucknow as the venue of the function where Mayawati was presented the garland falls under the jurisdiction of that Directorate.<br/> AIR correspondent reports that the BSP has said that garland was worth 21 lakh rupees which was donated by the party workers of Lucknow unit. <br/> Meanwhile, the BSP President Mayawati has convened a meeting of her party MPs and State Government Ministers today at Lucknow to discuss several issues including the controversy over the garland. Legislators and party coordinators have also been invited for the meeting.
