In Bihar, the Directorate General of Income Tax (Investigation) department has opened a control room in Patna to receive information and keep a close watch on poll expenditure by candidates during the Assembly polls in the state.AIR Patna correspondent reports, the control room will keep a close watch on distribution of undisclosed cash and other articles and ostentatious election expenditure in the name of ceremonies and anniversaries. It will be opened till November 26 and people can approach it on toll free telephone number 1800-345-6349 along with telephone and fax number 0612-2504538. The Income Tax department, under the mandate given by the Election Commission of India, can take necessary action as per the provision of the Income Tax act.
