IT Department detects large number of cases of serious irregularities post-demonetisation

The Income Tax Department has unearthed two thousand crore rupees of undisclosed income and seized cash and jewellery worth 130 crore rupees post-demonetisation.<br/><br/>In a statement, the IT department said, it has detected large number of cases of serious irregularities post-demonetisation and referred them to Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation for further action. It carried out swift investigations in more than 400 cases since withdrawal of high value currency notes. It said, more than 30 cases have already been referred to the ED and CBI. <br/><br/>The IT Department has also seized cash and jewellery worth 130 crore rupees and unearthed two thousand crore rupees of undisclosed income.
