IT cash seizures during searches at premises of Koda associates totals Rs 70 Lakh

The Income Tax department has made cash seizure totalling 70 lakh rupees during searches at the premises of the alleged associates of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda in connection with the money laundering scam.<br/><br/>As the searches continued for the second day today, the IT department plans to issue summons for questioning Koda's associates that included Shibu Soren's personal aide as it initiated the process to seal bank lockers and seizure of documents.<br/><br/>Cash seizures have been made at certain places including 30 lakh and 40 lakh at two different searches. Few other cash recoveries have also been made. <br/><br/>Sources said, the department will also issue summons for questioning few state civil service officers. A detailed questioning is required as the documents taken into custody are huge.
