The External Affairs Ministry today said, India has taken up with Sri Lanka the detention of 68 fishermen and ten boats that had been taken into custody by the Sri Lankan authorities last month. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, these detained fishermen have been provided the necessary support by officials from the Indian Consulate General in Jaffna including clothes and essentials.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''Besides facilitating phone calls with their relatives, they have also been provided legal representation. The High Commission of India in Colombo has taken up the issue of early release of these fishermen with Sri Lankan authorities. As a result of these efforts, twelve fishermen have now been released. The High Commission is making arrangements for their early repatriation and is engaged with the Sri Lankan authorities for early release of the Indian fishermen and their boats. He said India and Sri Lanka are in consultation on early holding of a joint working group on fisheries.<br />''<br />''On Sri Lankan cabinet clearing Trincomalee oil tank farms, the spokesperson said, energy security is an important area of bilateral cooperation with Sri Lanka. He said, India is in consultation with Sri Lanka for modernisation of Trincomalee oil tank farms which will allow for fuel storage and augment bilateral energy security.&nbsp;<br />
