The International Shooting Sports Federation- ISSF World Cup Shooting Championship was inaugurated on Tuesday in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.
Around 200 shooters from 30 countries are participating in the World Shooting Championship. The matches for the medals will start tomorrow.
This is the first ever Shooting World Cup to be held outside New Delhi in the country. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated this championship at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in Bhopal.
Shri Chouhan also virtually inaugurated the final shooting range at the Shooting Academy. The Chief Minister also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the International Sports Complex to be built at Barkheda Nathu near Bhopal.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that sports are a part of life. Sports are also keeping us healthy and happy. He said that life is incomplete without sports. Shri Chouhan said that we are making Bhopal a sports hub where every international facility for sports will be available.
ISSF President Luciano Rossi was the guest of honour at the event while MP Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia and National Rifle Association of India President Raninder Singh were also present at the event.
