The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C29 is all set to launch six Singapore satellites from India's spaceport at Sriharikotta that takes off at 6 this evening. The first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikotta is buzzing with activities. The count down process for the 32nd mission of the country's proven workhorse PSLV-C29 is at a crucial stage as it is readying for its take off at 6 this evening. The system checks and rechecks are going on as per the devised plans by the nation's space agency ISRO, as said by its chief spokesperson Deviprasad Karnik to AIR. <br/><br/>The rocket with the lift-off mass of 227.6 tonne will undertake its journey in a core-alone configuration as the total payload weight is just above 600 kg. This will be the sixth fully commercial launch by ISRO, which has put into orbits 51 foreign satellites successfully so far. <br/><br/>The major payload is the TeLEOS-One, a remote sensing satellite weighing 400 kg with the mission life of five years, which can be put to use for disaster monitoring and urban planning for the city state. Velox-C1 developed by the Nanyang Technological University NTU and Kent Ridge-1 of the National University of Singapore NUS are the microsatellites, Velox-2 and Athenoxat-1 of the NTU and Galassia of the NUS are nanosatellites, riding piggyback as co-passengers.
