The Indian Space Research Organization ISRO will be launching six satellites from Singapore on Wednesday evening at 6 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotta, India's spaceport. The payloads will be launched using PSLV-C29, India's highly versatile polar satellite launch vehicle. ISRO spokesperson Dr Deviprasad Karnik told AIR News, the 59-hour countdown for the launch would begin on Monday at 7 in the morning.

The total weight of all the six satellites will be 625 kg including the main payload TeLEOS that weighs 400 kg. TeLEOS is the first Singaporean earth observation satellite developed by ST Electronics, with the intended life span of five years. Of the other five, two are microsatellites and three still smaller nanosatellites, developed by the Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. India has so far successfully put into orbit 51 foreign satellites, all using the PSLV launch vehicle.
