ISRO’s GSLV F-06 will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space centre in Sriharikota at 4 pm on Saturday. ISRO spokesman Mr Satish told our Chennai correspondent that all the pre-launch tests have been completed satisfactorily. He said the 29 hour countdown for the launch will begin on Friday at 11 in the morning. GSLV in its present mission will carry a 2310 kg G-SAT-5P an exclusive communication satellite and has 24 C band and 12 extended C band transponders. It is intended to further augment the services currently provided by the Indian Satellite system (INSAT).AIR correspondent reports that the GSLV F-06 was to be launched on Monday last, but it had to put off due to a minor leak in one of the valves of the Russian Cryogenic stage observed during the pre-countdown checks.
