Indian Space Research Organisation has scheduled the launch of Cartosat II remote sensing satellite in the second half of December. <br/><br/>Informing this to media persons in Bengaluru today, the Chairman of ISRO, A S Kiran Kumar said, the powerhorse of ISRO, PSLV launch vehicle will carry the satellite along with 28 other foreign satellites and three Indian satellites on commercial basis. <br/><br/>He said, ISRO is working towards improving the robustness of PSLV to withstand external variables. <br/><br/>Speaking about Chandrayaan II mission, he said, satellite integration has begun and rower and lander are undergoing tests. The Orbiter with scientific payloads will orbit around the moon. <br/><br/>The Lander will soft land on the Moon at a specified site and deploy the Rover. The scientific payloads on-board the Orbiter, Lander and Rover are expected to perform mineralogical and elemental studies of the lunar surface. <br/><br/>The launch is scheduled in the first quarter of next year. ISRO Chairman said, Aditya Sun observation satellite will be launched in 2019 and discussion on Astrosat II is going on.<br/><br/>
