Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will today launch a record 104 satellites including Cartosat-2 in a single mission. The heavy duty rocket PSLV C37 carrying 104 satellites will lift off at 9:28 AM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota this morning. The satellites will be injected into sun synchronous orbit at different slots at different angles and at different times. The 28 hour countdown for the launch started at 5:28 AM yesterday. <br/><br/>This will be the world's highest number of satellites to be inserted into space in a single launch. Apart from principal payload Cartosat-2 series satellite and two more nano-satellites weighing less than 10 kilograms, 101 other co-passengers are from foreign countries. They include one each from Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UAE and 96 from the US.
