ISRO successfully launches GSLV-D5

ISRO successfully launched GSLV-D5 powered by indeginously developed cryogenic engine from Sriharikota from the Sathish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota at 4.18 on Sunday evening.

The four stage rocket stage had a precision launch with successful ignition and burnout of upper stage cryogenic rocket.

AIR Correspondent covering the event reports that GSLV D5 put the heavier GSAT 14 communication satellite into the targetted orbit at around 18 minutes after the take off.

ISRO Chairman described it as major achievement.

Todays success frutifies 20 years of toil of Indian scientists to indeginously develop cryonegic technology to put heavier rockets into space.
