Israeli warships are reported to have intercepted a boat of Jewish activists attempting to run a blockade off the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. Organisers of the protest voyage said the boat has been diverted to the Israeli port of Ashdod. According to a spokesman of the organisers, the Israeli warships forced the boat to change course but soldiers did not board it. He said all those on board surrendered because they were surrounded and had no choice.
