Israeli military says fighter jet shot down by Syrian fire

The Israeli military today said one of its fighter jet has crashed amid Syrian anti-aircraft fire after an offensive against Iranian targets in Syria. Israeli military spokesman Lieutenant Jonathan Conricus wrote on Twitter that Israel Defence Force has targeted the Iranian control systems in Syria that sent the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) into Israeli airspace.<br/><br/>He said in a massive Syrian anti-air fire, one F16 jet crashed into Israeli territory. Military said a combat helicopter intercepted an Iranian UAV was launched from Syria and infiltrated Israel.<br/><br/>It said the two pilots ejected and parachuted to safety in Israel. Red alert sirens sounded in areas of northern Israel and the Golan Heights.
