Israeli car blast: Man held in Delhi

Delhi Police has sought 20-day police custody of Sayed Mohammed Kazmi arrested in connection with the car bomb attack on an Israeli Embassy vehicle in New Delhi last month. He was produced in a Delhi court today. He was arrested by Delhi Police earlier in the day. He is alleged to be the part of the conspiracy. Delhi Police Commissioner B K Gupta said, Kazmi claims to have been writing for an Iranian publication. He was picked up after a probe showed that he had been in touch with the suspect who is believed to have stuck the magnetic bomb on Israeli diplomat Tal Yehoshua's car on 13th of February. Kazmi is alleged to have helped the suspect in conducting the recee of the Israeli Embassy to keep a tab on arrival and departures of the diplomats. Searches were carried out at his native place in Delhi.

AIR correspondent reports that Israeli diplomat Tal Yehoshua and an Indian driver of the embassy vehicle, was among four people injured in the blast after a magnetic bomb stuck to the vehicle went off.
