The Israeli and Palestinian leaders held, what was described as, serious discussions on core issues of conflict between their people. Speaking after peace talks that resumed in Egypt, the US envoy George Mitchell said, both sides affirmed their commitments to the talks. He said, Palestinian President Mehmoud Abbas and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated their intent to approach the negotiations in good faith and with seriousness of purpose.
