Israeli Air Force retaliates in Gaza

Israel Air Force conducted air strikes on targets in Gaza this morning in response to yesterday’s rocket attack from Gaza in which one migrant worker was killed in Israel. Israeli Defence forces said that its aircraft struck six targets in the Gaza strip in response to a deadly Palestinian rocket attack. According to Israeli media Haaretz, two Palestinian civilians were injured in one of three attacks on smuggling tunnels along the border with Egypt. The other targets included two open areas in Khan Younis and a metal foundry near Gaza City. The tension in the area has risen as the Quartet of Middle East peace mediators comprising the UN, the European Union, the United States and Russia are meeting in Moscow today.Meanwhile, Israel police increased security today to deal with the possibility of further unrest after imposing restrictions on Friday prayers at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound following unrest in the city.
