Israel to set up enquiry over commando raid carried out on ship carrying aid to Palestinians

Israel says it is setting up its own enquiry into an Israeli commando raid two weeks ago on ship carrying aid to Palestinians in Gaza. Nine Turkish activists were killed in the raid which provoked international outcry against Israeli blockade of Gaza. The three-member team will be chaired by a Supreme Court Justice. The two other members are of military and academic background. There will also be two foreign observers. In a statement issued from his office the Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahoo said the Committee would be asked to investigate how nine Turkish activists died after their boat was taken over by Israeli commands in he international waters. White House has said it expected Israel to conduct the enquiry promptly and to publish the results.
