Israel to appoint Commission to enquire on Flotilla incident

Israel has decided to appoint a public Commission to conduct the enquiry on Flotilla incident, which will be headed by a retired supreme court Judge.A statement by Israeli Prime Minister’s office said, retired Supreme Court Judge Jacob Turkel will chair the Commission and the other members will be a Professor of international law, Shabtai Rosen and retired Major General Amos Horev. It was also decided to appoint two foreign observers in the committee and they are Nobel Peace Prize laureate Lord William David Trimble from Northern Ireland and international jurist Ken Watkin, who was the former Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Armed Forces.Meanwhile, The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has said Israel's blockade of Gaza is a clear violation of international humanitarian law. In a statement, the ICRC described the situation in Gaza as dire, saying the only sustainable solution was a lifting of the blockade
