Israel releases all foreign nationals seized on board aid flotilla

Israel is deporting the activists seized aboard a six-ship humanitarian aid flotilla and seized in an Israel Navy raid en route to the Gaza Strip. The step has been taken following the decision of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday night. <br/>Israeli officials said all 680 activists held would be released, including those two dozen whom Israel had threatened earlier to prosecute charging they had assaulted its troops.<br/><br/>The decision came after worldwide criticism of the Israeli action. The UN Security Council on Tuesday called for a prompt, impartial, credible and transparent investigation conforming the international standards. <br/>Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Avigdor Liberman however said that the Security Council resolution is unacceptable and contributes nothing to the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East. <br/><br/>Meanwhile Israeli radio has reported that country is repatriating the families of its diplomatic staff based in Ankara, Turkey in view of tensions in the country.<br/>
