Israeli President Shimon Peres has said that Israel is ready to enter in direct negotiations with Syria immediately. According to a statement of Israeli foreign ministry, received by AIR, he told this in his speech to UN General Assembly where he said that there is no other peaceful alternative except talks. He stressed that in spite of wars, Israel made peace with Egypt and Jordan and the territorial dispute with Lebanon has ended. President Peres added that Israel left Gaza on its own initiative and now negotiating with the Palestinians in order to realize the two-state-solution.
