lsrael launched a series of airstrikes in Gaza starting late last night targeting three locations in Gaza. The strikes were in retaliation of a rocket assault on Ashkelon earlier in the day. According to a report, the first strike hit a runway near the compound of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's residence, which is now occupied by the Hamas. Eight people were wounded in the strike. The coastal Israeli city of Ashkelon was hit by a rocket fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza early yesterday, causing minor damage but no injuries.
