Indian Super League (ISL) winning football team Chennaiyin FC's captain Elano Blumer was arrested by Goa Police in a late night development. He was arrested for allegedly assaulting co-owner of FC Goa team Dattaraj Salgaoncar. The incident occurred during celebrations on the ground after Chennaiyin defeated FC Goa in the closely fought ISL final match. Srinivas Dempo, the second co-owner of Goa, who was present during the incident, said Elano came out of the team dugout and started making fun of FC Goa players. When Salgaocar questioned him about this, Elano allegedly assaulted him. Margaon police inspector C L Patil said, Salgaoncar had formally lodged a complaint with Police after which action was taken by Police. Police is further inquiring into the incident.
