Afghan envoy to US T. Jawad says, Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI was behind the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul which killed 17 people and wounded more than 80 on Thursday. He claimed this in an interview with PBS news channel in Washington. Jawad said, Afghanistan is pointing the finger at ISI based on the evidence on the ground and similar attack taking place in Afghanistan. While the Karzai Government was quick to point finger towards foreign players in the attack on the Indian embassy early this week, this is for the first time that a top Afghan official has blamed the Pakistani intelligence agency for the terror strike<br/><br/> <br/><br/>India says that Afghanistan faces threat from terrorists and their patrons residing across the border. The Foreign Secretary Ms. Nirupama Rao, who returned after a two-day visit to Kabul in the wake of Thursday's attack, told reporters in Delhi that the blast was the handiwork of those who want to undermine Indo-Afghan friendship.<br/><br/>She made it clear that India will not be deterred by such acts. Ms. Rao reiterated the unwavering commitment to pursuing bilateral development partnership and assisting the people of Afghanistan in realizing a democratic, peaceful and prosperous country.<br/><br/>The Foreign Secretary emphasized that the scourge of terrorism must be resolutely opposed, resisted and overcome through undiluted commitment and effort by the international community.<br/><br/>External Affairs Minister S M Krishna says, India is hopeful that Afghanistan government would provide additional protection to its mission following the second attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul. Talking to reporters in Bangalore he said Afghanistan is passing through a very grim situation. Mr. Krishna said the government of India and people of India are willing to go to the rescue of people of Afghanistan and India on its own will do enough for infrastructure development in Afghanistan
