ISA to become a legal entity tomorrow

India's global initiative International Solar Alliance (ISA), will become a legal entity tomorrow. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy said this in a statement issued in New Delhi today. It added that in terms of the Framework Agreement , Guinea ratified it as the 15th country on the 6th of last month. <br/><br/>With this the ISA will become a treaty-based international inter-governmental organisation tomorrow. It aims at increasing solar energy deployment in member countries,'<br/>The ISA, headquartered in India, has its secretariat located in the campus of National Institute of Solar Energy, Gurgaon, Haryana. It is an Indian initiative, jointly launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of France on November 30, 2015 in Paris, on the sidelines of the UN Climate Conference COP-2.<br/> <br/>India has offered to meet ISA Secretariat expenses for initial five years. In addition, India has set aside 2 billion US Dollars for solar projects in Africa out of 10 billion Dollars concessional Line of Credit for the continent. France has also earmarked 300 million EURO soft loan for solar related projects in the ISA member countries.
