Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Rani Singh Nair today took over as the new chairperson of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the policy-making body of the I-T department under the Union Finance Ministry.<br/><br/>A 1979-batch officer of the Income Tax cadre, she worked as member (Legislation and Computerisation) at CBDT.<br/><br/>Nair has been instrumental in framing the procedures and protocols that led to the roll-out of the ambitious Income Declaration Scheme. <br/><br/>The scheme aims at bringing undisclosed income and assets into tax net.
