In Uttar Pradesh, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy, IRGUA at Fursatganj in Rae Bareily district, has decided to set up an International Aviation University and a helicopter training facility at its campus. It has been decided at a meeting of IRGUA's Governing Council held at New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Civil Aviation Secretary Nasim Zaidi. Quoting sources, our Lucknow Correspondent reports that the proposed University will be the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, catering to the growing needs of the aviation sector. The University aims to impart quality education in every field of aviation, including aviation engineering, aeronautics, air traffic management, aviation administration, maintenance repair and overhaul. The Council has also decided that the intake of students shall be further increased to 200 per annum.
