Ireland became the second team after Afghanistan to Qualify for the World Cup T-20 championship to be held in Srilanka later this year. At the second preliminary final in Dubai this afternoon, Ireland defeated Namibia by Nine wickets.Ireland plays Afghanistan in the final later this evening to decide the line-up in the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in September-October this year. Put in to bat first Namibia were restricted to 94 by steady pace attack from Max Sorensen and Trent Johnson. Ireland chased down the target in just 10.1 overs to end at 96 for one. Paul Sterling cracked an unbeaten 59 off 32 balls with nine boundaries and a six. Max Sorensen bagged the Man of the Match award for his spell of two wickets for eight runs in four overs. The final line up of the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 will be decided on the basis of how the final finishes. The tournament winner joins Australia and the West Indies in Group B, while the losing finalist will complete Group A which also includes defending champion England and 2007 winner India. ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat complimented Ireland on its qualification for the ICC WT20 event. Ireland will be making its third appearance at the ICC World Twenty20 event after having played in the 2009 and 2010 editions.
