Ireland, Afghanistan qualify for World Cup 2015

Ireland and Afghanistan have qualified directly for the ICC World Cup Cricket Championship in 2015 which will be held in Australia and New Zealand. Ireland came first in the ICC World Cricket League championship final round matches in Amstelveen while Afghanistan came second after winning top spot in the League championship final round matches in Sharjah. Afghanistan team beat the hosts UAE in both the matches convincingly to seal a place in the tournament. Afghanistan now joins Pool-A of the 2015 World Cup with Australia, New zealand, England, Srilanka and the third qualifier. Ireland has been placed in Pool-B with India, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa , Zimbabwe and the fourth qualifying team.
