Partial results for Iraq's elections show Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's coalition is ahead in seven provinces including Baghdad and Basra, apart from predominantly-Shiite provinces of Babel, Najaf, Wassit, Diwaniya and al-uthanna. Former Prime Minister Iyad llawi's secular Iraqiya alliance is leading in five provinces that include Diyala, Salaheddin, Anbar, Ninawa and surprisingly Kirkuk, which was considered the stronghold of Kurdish parties.A coalition of mostly Shia Muslim religious parties, the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) is showing a narrow lead in the southern provinces of Maysan, Diwaniya and Dhi Qar and running a close second in Baghdad behind State of Law. The Kurdistan Alliance (KA) of the two main Kurdish parties is ahead in the race in three provinces.Experts say that no single bloc is expected to get the majority to form a government. The results have been overshadowed by more than 300 complaints of fraud from within Iraq and overseas, which are being investigated by the electoral commission. More than 6,200 candidates from six major coalitions and other groups contested the parliamentary elections on March 7
