Iraq’s election results at the end of this month

Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has said that it will announce final results of country’s parliamentary election before the end of this month. Voice of Iraq news agency reported that IHEC official Abdulrahaman Khalifa, has ruled out that rigging would occur in election results as a delay takes place in officially revealing them.Meanwhile partial results for Iraq's elections show PM Nouri Maliki's coalition ahead in seven provinces including Baghdad and Basra, apart from predominantly-Shiite provinces of Babel, Najaf , Wassit, Diwaniya and al-uthanna. Former Prime Minister Iyad llawi's secular Iraqiya alliance is leading in five provinces which include Diyala, Salaheddin, Anbar, Ninawa and surprisingly Kirkuk which was considered the stronghold of Kurdish parties.A coalition of mostly Shia Muslim religious parties, the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) is showing a narrow lead in the southern provinces of Maysan, Diwaniya and Dhi Qar and running a close second in Baghdad behind State of Law.The Kurdistan Alliance (KA) of the two main Kurdish parties is ahead in the race in Arbil.
