Iraq’s Beiji Oil Refinery shut by bombing

In Iraq, three production units in north-central Iraq’s Beiji Oil Refinery have completely stopped working after these were set on fire in an armed attack.According to Voice of Iraq news agency, the incident occurred when a group of armed men attacked the North Refinery on Friday night which is the largest refinery in Beiji. The attackers killed a guard and an engineer and wounded a technician, along with setting a huge fire to the refinery that produces 50 thousand barrels of refined oil per day.Meanwhile, the Iraqi Council of Ministers has decided to hold an emergency session on Sunday to boost the activity of different ministries.The Iraqi government's official spokesman, Ali Al-Dabbagh told reporters in Baghdad on Saturday that session is called to boost the activity of different ministries and provinces councils and laying down urgent executive plans to achieve that. The decision has come after Iraqi cities witnessed broad mass demonstrations demanding the improvement of services. Iraq's Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has stated that he would follow up the demands of citizens and implement all issues that are under his responsibility.
