Iraqi electoral commissioners to manually recount all votes in Baghdad

The electoral commissioner’s council in Iraq has decided to manually recount all votes in Baghdad.<br/> <br/>According to Voice of Iraq news agency, electoral commissioner Hamdiya al-Husseini said the manual recount would begin immediately in Iraq’s March 7 election and it will require seven days.<br/> <br/>Baghdad has 68 seats out of total 325 seats in the parliament. The State of Law coalition of Prime Minister Noorie al maliki has 26 seats in Baghdad while Iraqia alliance has 24 seats. <br/> <br/>Political parties in the country are struggling to form a new government after parliamentary election held on 7th March. <br/> <br/>The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced the results of the Iraqi parliamentary election on 26 March with former prime minister Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc obtaining 91 out of the parliament’s 325 seats, followed by incumbent Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s State of Law coalition with 89 seats, the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) with 70 seats and the Kurdistan Alliance with 43 seats.<br/>
