In Iraq, at least 11 inmates were killed and 22 others wounded on Monday by a fire in a prison in the capital city of Baghdad. An Interior Ministry source said the fire which broke out by an electical contact this morning in the Baladiyat prison in the east of the capital had been brought under control by firefighters after several hours. The source earlier put the toll at three killed and 30 wounded, but eight of the wounded died later in a Baghdad hospital.
