<span style="color: #222222;">Iran's permanent envoy to the United Nations has appealed to protect civilian lives in conflict-stricken zones across the world, especially the Middle East region.<br />''<br />''According to Press TV, Majid Takht Ravanchi during a UN Security Council meeting yesterday said, the protection of civilians in armed conflicts is a fundamental principle of humanitarian law.<br />''<br />''He said, conflicts have had devastating effects on volatile regions and cited the situation in Yemen, Palestine, and Syria as cases in point for the places which are witnessing number of violations against civilians.<br />''<br />''He also voiced strongly against politicization of humanitarian assistance and respect for the international humanitarian law among other things in conflict zones across the globe.</span><br />
