Iranians across the country are marking today the 31st anniversary of the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran by Iranian students. Thousands of Iranians gathered in front of the former US embassy building in Tehran to mark the day.According to Iranian channel PressTV, large crowd waved flags, carried banners and chanted slogans against the US and Israel.On 4th November, Iran annually marks the anniversary of the capture of the US embassy by Iranian students in Tehran in 1979, months after the Islamic revolution which toppled the US-backed shah. Meanwhile, Iran has welcomed the US decision to label the Sunni rebel group Jundallah a “terrorist” group. According to Fars new agency,Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that fighting terrorism is a general responsibility of all nations. He said, Iran considers placing Jundallah terrorist group on the US national list of terror organisations is a move in the right direction. He added that Iran will evaluate in practice America's change of policy regarding its support of terror groups like Jundallah, Tondar and PJAK.The United States yesterday officially designated Jundallah a foreign terrorist organization, blaming it for a series of attacks in Iran.It has already placed the outlawed Kurdish group PJAK on its list of terror groups.
