Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has called for the expansion of bilateral ties between India and Iran based on the commonalities shared by Tehran and New Delhi.According to Iran’s semi official channel PressTV, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi highlighted the common stances of the two countries on regional and global issues during a meeting with India's new ambassador to Tehran Shri .D.P. Srivastava.Salehi described the common historical and cultural points between Iran and India as further ground for the two nations to boost their bilateral relations. He said the potentials and capacities of Iran and India are complementary to each other, and called for the expansion of bilateral ties in various areas.The Indian Ambassador to Tehran, D.P. Srivastava, for his part, emphasized New Delhi's willingness to boost ties with Iran in the fields of politics, economy and trade. He also presented his credentials during the meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister.
