Iran says it is testing an improved top centrifuge developed by Iranian Scientists for enriched uranium. Centrifuges can be used to making both nuclear weapons and fuel for power stations. The announcement comes a few days before Iran anticipate talks on its nuclear programme. The United States and other Western powers suspect that Iran's uranium enrichment programme is geared toward generating nuclear-weapon material, but Tehran has maintained that the effort would only produce nuclear power plant fuel. Washington and other Western governments plan on pressing Tehran to halt the effort during multilateral talks scheduled for the 1st of next month.
