Iran to stand by Syria amid threats from Israel

Iran has vowed to stand by Syria against any threat posed by Israel. This was declared by Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a joint press conference with Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji al-Utri in Damascus today. His comment has come after Washington warned Tehran and Damascus against ‘making threats’ to Tel Aviv's security. According to Iranian channel PressTV, Iran's vice-president described the unity between Iran and Syria as an "iron fist" against powers, who hatch plots against Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. Iran's first vice-president arrived in Damascus yesterday on a two-day official visit.<br/>
