Iran says IAEA demands beyond country’s nuclear commitments

Iranian Ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ali Asghar Soltanieh has said that latest demands of the Agency from Iran are beyond the country's nuclear commitments. Soltaniah told Iran’s official news agency IRNA after an IAEA briefing last night that demands and expectations from Iran, presented in IAEA Director General Yukia Amano's new report are outside Iran's commitments to the NPT. He claimed that IAEA report gets into several issues that are outside the IAEA Safeguards Agreements and are included in the Additional Protocol, which is not binding. The IAEA released its latest report on 6th of this month on Iran's nuclear work, which urged Iran to cooperate in clarifying outstanding issues and also called on Iran to act strictly in accordance with the provisions of, and to ratify promptly, the Additional Protocol.
