Iran today rejected any modification of its nuclear deal with world powers after US President Donald Trump demanded tough new measures to keep the agreement alive. The Foreign Ministry in Teheran also vented its anger over the imposition of US sanctions on the head of its Judiciary, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani and 13 other individuals and entities over alleged rights abuses. <br/><br/>Teheran vowed to retaliate over the sanctions but did not say what form any action might take. Trump again waived nuclear-related sanctions yesterday but demanded European partners work with the United States to fix what he called the deal's disastrous flaws, or else the United States will withdraw. The nuclear deal signed by Iran, United States and five other world powers in 2015 prevents Iran from developing nuclear weapons while offering sanctions relief to allow the Islamic Republic to participate in international commerce and banking. <br/><br/>Under US law, the President is required to renew the waiver on sanctions every 120 days. The White House wants European Union signatories to agree on permanent restrictions on Iran's uranium enrichment. Mr Trump also wants Iran's ballistic missile programme to be addressed.<br/><br/>
