Iran says it is ready to release on bail an American woman who was detained near the border with Iraq more than a year ago. The woman Sarah Shourd was arrested alongwith two American men in July last year and accused of spying. Iran first announced the release last week but then postponed it saying legal requirements have not yet been completed. The Americans have said that they were hiking and strayed into Iranian territory by mistake.
