Iran ready for fuel swap conditionally

Iran has reiterated that it is ready for fuel swap, provided it is done within the country.According to Iranian news agency ILNA, speaking in his weakly press conference foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iran has sent a letter to IAEA to inform that country will cooperate with IAEA if the atomic agency supplies the 20 percent nuclear fuel to Tehran research reactor. He added that Iran does not want to reduce the level of cooperation with IAEA or withdraw NPT but it does not see a necessity to increase the level of cooperation with the agency either.'Meanwhile, China has called for further negotiations to resolve the international standoff over Iran's nuclear programme. Talking to newsmen in Beijing today, a foreign ministry spokesman said that the concerned parties should step up diplomatic efforts and show flexibility for a proper resolution of the issue. He also called on the United States to undo the damage done to the China-US relations following the recent meeting between US President Barack Obama and the exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama in Washington. The spokesman urged Washington take concrete measures to uphold the sound development China-US relations.
